IT sector has nothing to fear: CM
BANGALORE: A day after serial blasts rocked the city, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday said investigations were on to track those behind the incidents and asked people, including those in the IT sector, not to panic or harbour any apprehensions.
"Investigations are on", he said, refusing to divulge details stating that the Assembly session was currently on. On whether the state government had sought deployment of additional forces from the Centre, Yeddyurappa evaded a direct reply and said, "We have spoken to the Home Minister and sought the Centre’s help".
He appealed the people not to panic but to resume their normal work, without "any fear or apprehension.”
To a question, he said the IT sector had nothing to fear and the government was taking all possible steps to scale up the security in the city.
Eight near-simultaneous blasts shook the Bangalore city on Friday afternoon, leaving two persons dead and 12 injured.
